A useful custom game quotation does more than show a unit price. It documents what the factory believes it is making, how the set will be packed, and which decisions still need buyer approval. For private-label chess, mahjong, domino, and board game projects, comparing like for like is the first step toward a reliable production decision.
Send every supplier the same component list, target quantity, artwork status, packaging direction, destination country, and desired delivery window. Without a shared brief, two prices may describe two different products. A clear request should identify game pieces, board or tiles, accessories, print components, inserts, retail packaging, and outer cartons.
Ask each supplier to separate the meaningful parts of the quote: materials, printing, tooling where applicable, assembly, packaging, samples, inspection, and shipping terms. This reveals whether one quote excludes a fitted insert, uses a different board construction, or assumes a lower-grade finish.
Unit price matters, but so do payment terms, sample cost, revision limits, stated MOQ, lead time, and the Incoterm. A lower figure that omits protective packaging or pre-shipment inspection can create a higher landed cost and more risk later.
